Phenomenal Nigerian Nurses!!

Hello Facebook family,

Its me again. Preparations for my 50th birthday heating up. The theme remains "Engaging the Diaspora". In light of that, we set up a meaningful engagement with the Nigerian nurses towards an eventual overhaul of health care services delivery in Nigeria

As part of our Campaign for Excellence in Nursing in Nigeria, the R.A.N.E ( Regina Askia for Nursing Excellence)  project has worked with 30 nurses on a comprehensive physical assessment  and Basic life Support skills development. Crucial life saving skills of CPR and first aid delivery were explored.

The Nurses here after will embark on a  blue print action plan over a year, drawn by Regina Askia Williams under the guidance of the Dean of the Susan Shapiro Nursing Program of Wagner College New York , Professor Patricia Tooker and Margaret Frank Bader, ace  Nurse Manager of the Transplant Unit of NYU Langone.

The blue print examined various programs initiated towards Reproductive Health with a focus of HIV education effectiveness and impact. It examined Nigeria health indices on HIV infection rates according the WHO data.

The conclusion was that more work was needed towards educating the caregiver on effective methods of communication with vulnerable communities.
Our Nurses were recruited to embark on a series of studies on educational messages that will concurrently educate the masses and the caregivers.

Programs have been designed to be deseminated on radio, television, social media and face to face teaching for communities not assessible by these methods of communication.
The communities of the Federal Capital Territory have been targeted for a pilot study. The impact of this program will be assessed by measurable changes in lifestyle choices and health perceptions in the community. The program will subsequently be replicated in other states in Nigeria.

Wagner College is also considering a cultural exchange program where its Nursing students will visit Nigeria and provide clinical services to the target communities and Nigerian nurses also would have an opportunity to experience clinical nursing practice in America

Our nurses will be on hand to deliver health checks to interested parties earlier in the day of, and will be recognized and honored with certificates of participation at the birthday event
They will also pay courtesy visits to the Health Care Ministries.
Please help me salute our brigade of  phenomenal nurses here listed and encourage them to keep up the good work.

Here is an open invitation to the skilled Nigerian nurses in the diaspora, join us and make change happen.
